Valley is a city in Chambers County, Alabama, United States. Valley was incorporated in 1980 combining the four textile mill villages of Fairfax, Langdale, River View, and Shawmut.[2] As of the 2010 census it had a population of 9,524.[3] The city lies on the western bank of the Chattahoochee River, the state border between Alabama and Georgia. On November 27, 2022 Valley Police Department, under a legal bench warrant issued by Circuit Judge Calvin Milford, arrested an 82 year old woman for failure to appear in court after all other documented and legally required attempts (via USPS and personal contact as well as a duly served court summons) to collect or arrange payment of approximately 6 months of unpaid trash bills went ignored by her and her adult children who were also legal residents of the home.[7]
